Nicki Minaj has made history on the Billboard Hot 100 following the release of her new album Pink Friday 2.
According to Chart Data, Nicki’s latest project has become the female rap album with the highest number of songs to appear on the Hot 100, with 17 of its 22 tracks landing on the chart.
14 of those 17 songs debuted on this week’s Hot 100, with the Lil Uzi Vert-assisted “Everybody” being the highest at No. 26, followed by the Drake collaboration “Needle” at No. 34 and “FTCU” at No. 42.
Other tracks include “Barbie Dangerous” (No. 58), “Are You Gone Already” (No. 60), “Let Me Calm Down” featuring J. Cole (No. 63), “Beep Beep” (No. 64), “Big Difference” (No. 73) and “RNB” featuring Lil Wayne and Tate Kobang (No. 80).
“Super Freaky Girl” previously peaked at No. 1 last year, while “Red Ruby da Sleeze” (No. 13) and “Last Time I Saw You” (No. 23) had also earlier appeared on the chart.
The historic milestone comes shortly after Nicki Minaj broke a separate record on the Billboard 200.
Thanks to Pink Friday 2 topping the chart with 228,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, Nicki now has the most No. 1 albums of any female rapper with three.
She was previously tied with Foxy Brown, who topped the Billboard 200 twice in the 1990s with her solo album Chyna Doll and The Firm: The Album, a collaboration with Nas, AZ, and Nature.
Foxy reacted to the news on social media, congratulating her younger peer for breaking her long-standing record.
“Umm sir! Only Nic could break tha king[‘s] record,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories, while also teasing a comeback of her own: “3rd #1 record dropping 2024.”
She added: “Hella proud. 26 year record is brazy tho. Y’all mean to tell me no bitch broke that shit in my absence! Took twin to set tha bar again!”
Released on December 8 — Nicki Minaj’s 41st birthday — via Young Money/Republic Records, Pink Friday 2 serves as the long-awaited sequel to her 2010 debut album and her first album since 2018’s Queen.
In addition to Drake, Lil Wayne, J. Cole and Lil Uzi Vert, the project boasts appearances from Future, Skillibeng, Lourdiz, Skeng and Tasha Cobbs Leonard.
50 Cent, Monica and Keyshia Cole also appear on bonus track versions of the project.
Been years since I’ve even heard someone mention this woman’s name and yet her album is breaking all these records. That farm streaming shit really proves anyone can have a top selling album, even if not a single person listened to it more than once.
Lmaoo niqqa u h!gh AF and must live under a rock. Nicki has a cult following. Her fan base is the most active fan base on social media. They just ripped Elliot Wilson apart, made him apologize & Ebro just admitted he got pressed by them. As well as Charlamagne & DJ Envy. Nadeska can’t even show up to work when the topic is Nicki because she’s scared of the barbz. U gotta be dumb AF to deny Nicki has the biggest fan base in Hip Hop. Anything she drops they buy instantly! She just announced her tour dates and they’re begging her to add more cities. They throw streaming parties and make her music streams high. She runs the music industry rn. Nicki doesn’t even need radio play, massive promo or any videos and her album still sold over 228K and went #1 on BB200, mind u Billboard took away 100k of her albums sales because her fans were buying multiple copies. Like u don’t understand Nicki is on another level. U don’t need to hear her name.
I’m tired of these females letting their body parts hang out of their clothing. Gross. Cover up women, we don’t want to see all that stuff
