Michelle Obama Gets In “Formation” For Beyoncé’s Birthday

For Beyoncé fans, Monday (September 3) was more than just Labor Day — it was Queen Bey’s 36th birthday. Many of the megastar’s close friends and family paid tribute by adopting Beyoncé’s look from the “Formation” video, including Michelle Obama. The two have been friends for years.

In addition to the former First Lady, Serena Williams, JAY and Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy, mother Tina Knowles, Hov’s mother Gloria Carter and fellow Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland all donned a wide-brimmed black hat, an ornate silver necklace and two long braids in the birthday girl’s honor.

In total, 18 people close to the Houston native are featured on Beyoncé’s website sporting the look. At the top of the page, there’s a link urging people to contribute to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

Over the weekend, her husband JAY-Z also got the crowd at the Made In America festival to sing her “Happy Birthday” (the Stevie Wonder version) in Philly, while she looked on with Roland and a handful of friends.
