Kodak Black has shared his frustrations about being snubbed by the Grammy Awards, but said the love of a certain former president is all he needs.
The Florida rapper was chilling in the studio with Akademiks and YouTuber Adin Ross when he said he felt he was supposed to have “a million” Grammys by now with all the success he’s had in his career.

“Y’all know I’m supposed to have a million Grammys,” Kodak said in the below video at the five-and-a-half-minute mark. “Ok, but fuck the Grammy’s, fuck the awards ’cause sometimes your shit don’t always come as a trophy.”
He continued: “Look how real n-ggas gotta get their awards. I count the Trump pardon — that’s my Grammy, that’s my award then.”
Kodak has been an outspoke fan of Donald Trump since the former president pardoned him in January 2021, even going so far as to buy a gold chain featuring a custom Trump pendant.
Yak went on to vent about his hit single “Super Gremlin” receiving zero nominations at the 2023 Grammy Awards. The Back For Everything track peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has been certified platinum, but was overlooked in the rap categories.
Instead, the Best Rap Song nods went to Jack Harlow’s “Churchill Downs,” DJ Khaled’s “God Did,” Kendrick Lamar’s “The Heart Part 5,” Gunna’s “Pushin’ P” and Future’s “Wait For U,” while the Best Rap Performance award will be decided between DJ Khaled’s “God Did,” Doja Cat’s “Vegas,” Gunna’s “Pushin P,” GloRilla’s “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” and Kendrick Lamar’s “The Heart Part 5.”

“At first, I was sitting at this shit like, ‘Damn, homie. Y’all know ‘Super Gremlin’ was the hottest shit — still the hottest shit,” Kodak said. “Even though a lot of them muthafuckas had good songs, why y’all still ain’t give me my shit, homie? What the fuck a n-gga supposed to do?”
The Sniper Gang boss has unfortunately been getting snubbed all year long. Kodak previously took aim at the BET Hip Hop Awards and American Music Awards for not handing him any hardware.

Yak notably lost out in the Song of the Year category at the BET Hip Hop Awards to Latto’s “Big Energy” in October, and didn’t take kindly to the loss.

Kodak clarified his support for female rappers but felt the organizers unfairly snubbed male artists like Drake and Future in the Song of the Year category. He also said GloRilla’s “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” was more deserving of the trophy.

Kodak Black most recently took issue with the first-week sales projections of his latest project Kutthroat Bill: Vol. 1, which was expected to move a mere 39,000 units in its first week.
