Lil Wayne has been full of surprises. When he announced he would be releasing an album with influences from rock and rap, many were shocked, intrigued and/or put off. Nevertheless, he has managed to build up a buzz for the album’s release. Now, it seems that he will have more time to build up anticipation as it has been pushed back yet again.

Shannell, a contributing song writer on the album, has opened up about this.

Right now [the album is set for release in] September, but let me tell y’all, great art takes time and you’ll expect it and expect it and expect it again, but when it’s perfect, you guys will receive it,” Shannell told Rap-up.com [click here].

An official statement has yet to be made on behalf of the record company or Wayne.

A lot has been made of this album so far. At first, Weezy claimed it would be a Rock and Rap album. Later, Baby claimed it would not be a Rock album, but it would make him a Rock star.

That’s what I think people are getting misunderstood. When you speaking about a rock record, you think he’s got a guitar and everything, but it’s not that. It’s going to be some of those types of beats, but it’s just great music. I don’t think no artist can do what he about to get done. My son is a Rock star,” he said earlier this year [click here].
