DDG has shared some intimate details about his new life as a partner to Halle Bailey, and as a father to their infant son Halo.
The YouTuber-turned-rapper sat down with The Shade Room for their series, Keep It 100, on Friday (April 26). There, he revealed that his small family’s life is rather normal, all things considered.

“I’m his stylist. I made sure I told Halle that was my job,” the proud papa said about the son the pair shares, at the 2:24 mark. “We collaborate now, but when it comes to popping out to special events like playdates, I feel like that’s where I come in and put together the best outfits for him.”
He continued: “He has my last name so I kind of wanted him to have something of Halle’s, so it’s like H-A -L is hers and H-A-L is his. It looks the same if you put Halle and Halo next to each other.”
Last month, DDG and Halle Bailey were the epitome of proud parents when baby Halo said his first words.
In a video posted to social media, the couple captured the heartwarming interaction with their little one as they encouraged him to speak his first words.

“Dada,” the Michigan-born rapper/internet personality can be heard repeating multiple times as Halo coos and kicks in excitement. After several unsuccessful tries, Halo eventually echoes his father and utters: “Dada.”
DDG and Halle then let out excited screams in unison at their son’s special milestone.

“MY SON FIRST WORDS!! HE SAID DADA!!!!! [crying face, red heart emoji],” DDG captioned the clip. “OMG KEEP WATCHING TO THE END [crying face emoji].”
The pair announced Halo’s birth in January after months of speculation that Halle Bailey was pregnant.

“Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son,” The Little Mermaid star wrote on Instagram.
“Welcome to the world my halo [smiley face with hearts emoji, baby angel emoji, star emoji] the world is desperate to know you [wink emoji, crying laughing emoji, black heart emoji].”
DDG later posted a slightly different angle of the photo, which he captioned: “my biggest blessing by far [baby emoji, heart emoji] son son.. never been so in love [holding back tears emoji] baby halo.”
He also admitted that watching Bailey give birth gave him a “newfound respect” for women.

“I wouldn’t have chose no other person in the world to have a child with,” he said in a YouTube vlog. “We learning. She’s a great mom. It’s crazy, she’s amazing.”
He added: “I have a newfound respect for women. As a dude, we really got it easy. I couldn’t imagine pushing a baby out of my P.O.”
