DDG and Halle Bailey have finally confirmed the arrival of a baby boy they have named Halo, after months of fan speculation that the couple was expecting.
Bailey took the lead with the announcement late Saturday night (January 6), sharing a photo via Instagram of the couple holding the baby’s hand with a bracelet bearing his name. The caption included a subtle dig at the ongoing chatter that has surrounded her over the last few months.

“even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son,” The Little Mermaid star wrote. “welcome to the world my halo [smiley face with hearts emoji, baby angel emoji, star emoji] the world is desperate to know you [wink emoji, crying laughing emoji, black heart emoji].”
DDG later posted a slightly different angle of the photo, which he captioned: “my biggest blessing by far [baby emoji, heart emoji] son son.. never been so in love [holding back tears emoji] baby halo.”
The rumors about Halle Bailey’s alleged pregnancy started when she was seen walking behind DDG during a live video over the summer. Some fans speculated that she was looking a little thicker around the middle than she’d previously been, leading to the pregnancy speculation.
With numerous subsequent red carpet looks appearing to cover the singer’s mid section, fans became increasingly convinced that the longtime couple was expecting their first child together, just months after they were believed to have split following cheating allegations on DDG’s part.

The rumors reached a fever pitch in October, when she was spotted wearing an oversized hoodie covering what seemed to be a “baby bump” in Santa Monica, CA. The Shade Room shared photos acquired from Splash News, and the Chloe x Halle singer became a trending topic on social media almost instantly.
On Christmas Day, the pair posted a video which many took as evidence that Bailey had given birth to the rumored baby. The clip, shows the couple baking Christmas cookies in their holiday pajamas. At one point, Halle braces herself and slowly gets up to walk away from the table – putting her full body on display as she did so.
This in itself was notable to fans as she’s been covering her stomach for months, and seemed to have no qualms about showing it off now – as it appeared to be pretty flat. In comments shared on Hollywood Unlocked, fans with children of their own said there was no mistaking the way The Little Mermaid star got up.
“She done had that baby every mom knows that stand up gave it up. aw congrats,” one person wrote. Another said: “That stand up is definitely the postpartum stand up I have six kids I definitely know wtf going on congratulations.”

Still, as recently as recently as earlier this week, the two continued to downplay the chatter, with DDG even trolling fans by leaning into the speculation.
On Wednesday (January 3), the 26-year-old took to Snapchat and shared a series of mirror selfies of himself holding his “daughter.” One photo featured the rapper with a baby doll, while the other saw him holding a young toddler.
