Viewers of the 2009 BET Music Awards[click to read] were somewhat thrown a back when a performance of “Every Girl” by Lil Wayne, Drake, and other Young Money artists consisted of pre-teen girls dancing on the stage.

It has remained uncertain if the appearance by the young girls was planned before the show or if it was a spontaneous move by Young Money.

But BET has just released a statement to AllHipHop.com explaining that they had no part in what happened during the Young Money performance and that they “deeply regret” what took place.

BET Networks deeply regrets the performance by Young Money[click to read] at the BET AWARDS,”
a BET representative told AllHipHop.com. “Elements of the performance were unplanned and should not have happened.”

In other Young Money news, Drake has the internet buzzing with the recent release of his debut music video “Best I Ever Had” [click to watch] and Lil Wayne will be postponing his seven upcoming European shows due to illness and a “doctor-mandated” break.

“Lil Wayne extends an apology to his fans for the short notice of this postponement,”
  a statement made on behalf of Lil Wayne explains. “But [he] looks forward to returning for the performances and visitation with his fans.”
