HipHopDX – As the final days of January descend upon us, artists from all ends of the industry are pushing the button on their 2022 moves.

In this week’s edition of HipHopDX’s New Music Friday Singles coverage, representation is all over the place as Japanese designer and BAPE founder NIGO joins forces with Harlem rap luminary A$AP Rocky to kick things off.

Elsewhere Republic Records queen bee Coi Leray continues to mash her foot on the gas pedal while “Ransom” rapper Lil Tecca delivers his first groove of the year and XXXTENTACION’s team shares a posthumous release featuring one of the “LOOK AT ME” lyricist’s classic SoundCloud-era hits.

Here’s the full list of singles released Friday (January 28), below.

NIGO f. A$AP Rocky – “Arya”

Fresh off his “Chaining Day” thanks to Lil Uzi Vert and A$AP Rocky, NIGO is sharing the first taste of his upcoming album after teasing snippets of unreleased music from Tyler, The Creator, Pusha T and more during the presentation of Kenzo 2022 Ready-to-Wear collection at Paris Fashion Week earlier this month.

Now, Pharell’s longtime collaborator initiates the rollout of his I Know NIGO project with the help of Pretty Flacko for their “Arya” single.

Coi Leray – “Anxiety”

Hell-bent on proving her haters wrong this year, Coi Leray has made it clear that she doesn’t compare to any artist — especially DeJ Loaf.

After giving fans a dose of “Medicine” to close out 2021, the “No More Parties” rapper deals with “Anxiety” on her latest release.

Benny Butcher – “Johnny P’s Caddy”

Even though the Buffalo Bills fell short of their Super Bowl dreams at the hands of Patrick “P. Diddy” Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this month, Benny The Butcher is still putting the “Bills Mafia” on his back.

In anticipation of his Tana Talk 4 album, the Butcher connects with J. Cole for their “Johnny P’s Caddy” collaboration.

Rakeem Miles f. Zaia, boyband – “Heartbreakers”

Quavo – “Shooters In My Crib”

Migos frontman Quavo appears to be stuck in his trap life ways no matter how far removed he is from his humble beginnings.

In his new “Shooters In My Crib” visual he actually addresses how his mother is ashamed of the fact he still keeps hitters in his home despite being worth multi-millions.

XXXTENTACION – “Vice City”

On January 23, a short near two-minute-long video was released on late Florida artist XXXTENTACION’s official YouTube channel featuring words from his rap peers such as Lil Uzi Vert and deceased Chicago lyricist Juice WRLD and more speaking on X’s legacy.

In the description section of the video, X’s team outlined their plans to make the SKINS rapper’s early music available on all streaming services. Following his 2020 “RIOT” single, XXXTENTACION’s first posthumous release of 2022 manifests in the form of his fan-favorite “Vice City” offering which was recently featured in the remastered Grand Theft Auto Trilogy game.

VV$ Ken – “Thorough”

$ledge f. BigBabyGucci – “No Mistakes”

Lil Tecca – “Fallin”

With the support of artists such as Gunna, Lil Yachty and Chief Keef, Lil Tecca entered 2022 on a high note following the release of his We Love You Tecca 2 (Deluxe) album.

Taking control of the momentum he’s built thus far, Lil Tecca has “Fallin” into a zone like where he is his only competition by a long shot.

Denzel Curry – “Walkin”

Having announced appearances at major upcoming music festivals such as Coachella and Bonnaroo on Instagram earlier this week, it would appear Denzel Curry has major plans for the year.

Instead of hitting the ground running, Denzel Curry is “Walkin” his way into releasing new music for the first time since his 2021 “Dynasties & Dystopia” single.

NWG Suave – “Vengeance Freestyle”

SSGKobe – “Don’t Miss”

Building on his “KO.” double single from last month, SSGKobe is beginning 2022 in the metaverse.

Following in the footsteps of Bay Area rap veteran Too $hort, SSGKobe partners with the Kid Cudi-backed augmented reality app Encore to deliver his “Don’t Miss” effort.
