Lil Uzi Vert has shown he’s a man of the people, whether that’s through hanging out with fans in New York City and turning up at random weddings. With Baby Pluto’s knack for doing things most other celebrities wouldn’t do, his connection with his fans runs deep — and it appears his influence has crossed over into the classroom.

On Thursday (January 6), a video of a teacher quoting Lil Uzi Vert lyrics to her students during a class went viral. The teacher recites rhymes from Uzi’s “P2” — from his 2020 album Eternal Atake — to help her describe a lesson related to an important moment in her life.

“I really could relate to some of the lyrics,” she said to her class. “The part I liked best, because it reminded me of a time in my life, was the passage: ‘I don’t really care ’cause I’m done/On the real, our love is not fun/There’s no emotion on my face ’cause I’m numb/ You see me everywhere you look; no, you can’t hide or run.'”

The class erupted once the teacher finished reciting the chorus off “P2,” and one of the students even screamed, “She’s cold!” Meanwhile, the comments section on OurGenerationMusic’s Instagram post were flooded with praise for the unnamed teacher.

The teacher replied, “Must say I have never heard of Lil Uzi Vert. Guess I need to check that out on YouTube.”

The teacher might just be one of the many Lil Uzi Vert fans desperately waiting for him to drop his next album The Pink Tape. Uzi teased the project at the top of 2021 and unleashed several snippets throughout the year. However, the album has yet to materialize.

Uzi seemingly addressed the delay on Instagram earlier this week, sharing a Junot Diaz quote to his Instagram Stories that read, “The whole culture is telling you to hurry, while the art tells you to take your time. Always listen to the art.”
