Artists work with many people throughout their careers, and some of those collaborations get messy for various reasons. SZA recently found herself in a complicated situation with a photographer she worked with on a photo shoot.

According to the TDE songstress, the photographer — Edwig Henson or “Edwiggery” — released the photos from their shoot without her permission, and she’s unhappy about it. SZA took to Twitter to vent about the situation after finding out Henson posted the photos on his Instagram.

“He literally text me m said ‘sorry if u never wanna work w me again but I decided I’m releasing these’ never felt more powerless or disrespected,” SZA wrote in a series of since-deleted tweets. “Releasing pictures of me w out my consent is scary . Y’all be careful working w folk u don’t know well.”

Fans dragged Henson after SZA tweeted about the ordeal, but he clapped back at his critics, saying no one signed a contract for the shoot. If there was no contract, Henson argues, he can technically do as he pleases with the photos he took.

“Definitely not doing anything for clout, there’s so much more to this than you guys know, I’m not a bad person,” Henson wrote in a series of since-deleted tweets. “I’m not arguing with anyone on social media. Never have, never will. And please stop sending death threats.”

Henson also revealed SZA was interested in buying the pictures, but had “very poor” communication with his management. The photographer also said he paid for the studio, hairstylist, and makeup artist yet received no compensation in return.

TDE President Terrence “Punch” Henderson chimed in on the matter, telling the photographer he’s handling the situation poorly. “And you still got the post up on ig??” Punch asked on Instagram. “You doing this wrong champ. I promise you you’re doing this the wrong way.”

Despite feeling he can do whatever he wants with the pictures, it seems Edwig Henson has had a change of heart. As of press time, the images of SZA are no longer on his Instagram page.
