Ice Cube has been fending off criticism since October 14 when Donald Trump’s senior campaign advisor Katrina Pierson publicly thanked him on Twitter for assisting them with their Platinum Plan.
Shortly after the news blew up, the gangsta rap pioneer appeared on CNN’s Cuomo Prime Time and explained his intention, which is to work with “anybody” in power who will assist him with his Contract With Black America (CWBA) initiative. But as the country awaits the results from the 2020 presidential election, Cube is still doing damage control.
On Thursday morning (November 5), Cube tweeted, “Let me get this straight, I get the president of the United States to agree to put over half a trillion dollars of capital in the Black Community (without an endorsement) and N-ggas are mad at me? Have a nice life.”
But journalist Roland Martin wasn’t trying to hear it and promptly shut Cube down.

“The only problem @icecube is that you didn’t get Trump to put $500 billion of capital in Black communities. It’s a lie. It’s ONE LINE on the cover sheet of his so-called Platinum Plan. No specifics. NOTHING. Bruh, you got played.”
Martin added, “Why do I know you got played @icecube ? I’ve talked to numerous Black Republicans who currently work with the administration and THEY said the $500 billion “commitment” is a joke. You’re just wrong, bruh.”
But Martin wasn’t done there. He also reminded Cube he didn’t even speak with Trump himself — instead, he allegedly spoke to his son-in-law Jared Kushner.
“I am 100% for Black folks making it clear that we are constituents who must be addressed by who is in power,” he continued. “But @icecube, you REALLY think you got Trump to agree to $500 billion when you said you never talked to him? Bruh, you talked to Jared Kushner. Also @icecube, the other reason I know the $500 billion is fraudulent because after Trump announced the plan in front of his Black minions in ATL, he never brought it up again. It was a one-page press release.

“Another reason I know the plan is a fraud @icecube is because I reached out to the Trump White House AND campaign to have at least ONE person come on #RolandMartinUnfiltered to discuss the Platinum Plan, and no one would. That’s a FACT. The other reason you didn’t get a $500 billion commitment @icecube is because the Trump administration made NO effort to do ANY Black media to discuss the plan. Did they try to go on ANY national Black radio shows? NO. Black papers? NO. Black websites? NO.”
Martin wrapped up his diatribe with, “Look @icecube, I get your intentions. But all of the data – lack of ANY endorsement by top Black REPUBLICAN business leaders and NO outreach to ANY Black media outlets – proves that $500 billion commitment is as trusted as Trump’s wedding vows. They are worthless.”
Cube has become internet fodder since his Trump involvement came to light, so much so he was recently mocked on Saturday Night Live.

On Saturday night’s (October 31) Halloween episode, actor Jim Carrey reprised his role as Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and told a spooky tale about the 2020 presidential election. At one point in the sketch, Cube (Kenan Thompson) and Lil Wayne (Chris Redd) showed up to the White House each wearing a now-infamous red MAGA hat in a way to mock the two rappers for their perceived support of the current POTUS.
They insinuated the only reason Cube got involved with Trump in the first place is because of money. Upon seeing the skit, the Cube tweeted, “Fuck you SNL. Trying to reduce me to greed” alongside three laughing emojis.
The election took place on Tuesday (November 3), but the final tally for the election is still being determined. So far, the Associated Press reports Biden leads with 264 points compared to Trump’s 218.
