GoldLink apparently wasn’t impressed with the 2020 Grammy Award nominations for Best Rap Album.
During a tour stop in Hamburg, Germany on Wednesday (November 27), he implied he threw his phone when he heard YBN Cordae’s name on the list of nominees.
“I was on the phone or whatever,” he stated. “It was like Best Rap Album. It was Meek Mill, I was like…uh. Then there was like 21 Savage.”
He stared into the air before returning to the rant.

“Then there was Tyler, The Creator, and I was like ‘Ah,'” he continued. “And then was Revenge of the Dreamers III, and I was like…uh. And then I saw this one nigga, and I threw my phone.”
Prior to the Hamburg show, GoldLink penned a lengthy post blasting the Grammy Awards.
“Honestly, its fuck Grammys til the day I die, he wrote in part. “I am no longer participating in that wild ass slave ass political ass cheating ass game any longer. The lack of relevance you have just solidified today is unbelievable.”
Over the past week, GoldLink has been experiencing a healthy dose of backlash for the controversial comments he made about the late Mac Miller.

In an Instagram post, he accused Miller of copying his music for his 2016 album The Divine Feminine. Consequently, Anderson .Paak chided GoldLink, calling his post “disrespectful, narcissistic, jealous grossly unnecessary post.”
GoldLink addressed his remarks during the same Hamburg concert and referred to Miller as “best friend.”
The D.C. rapper has been touring the U.S. and Europe to support his second album Diaspora since August.
