Brooklyn, NY

Brooklyn MC Ace Clark isn’t one to shy away from making poignant social commentary (see “Hard To Breath“) — and his latest single is no different. On Thursday (October 31) he officially dropped a powerful new visual for “Dumb Nigga” featuring Dreamville spitter Cozz .

The video, which follows a group of Black women who fuel a movement of re-education at a local bookstore, forces its viewers to confront and unpack social and systemic flaws in the United States.

As Clark notes to HipHopDX, showcasing the lives of his people, is something he considers his job as an artist.

“I consider myself a Hip Hop ‘documentarian,'” he says. He explains that with the breadth of tensions in the US, there couldn’t be a better time to release content that generates necessary conversation within his community.

“Hearing records like Nas’ ‘I Can‘ empowered me to make this single.”

The single is the first release from an as-of-yet untitled new project dropping at the top of 2020, which is set to feature Christian hip hop artist Andy Minero, Slum Village alumni Elzhi, and more.
