Machine Gun Kelly Reveals Eminem Diss Was Fueled By Alcohol

As Machine Gun Kelly continues to promote Hotel Diablo, his follow-up to 2018’s BINGE EP, the actor/rapper stopped by Everyday Struggle to chop it up with DJ Akademiks and crew. Inevitably, his beef with the rap god himself Eminem was introduced into the conversation.

Kelly insisted people shouldn’t be blindly loyal to any artist just because of their legendary status.

“The internet thing trying to muddy it, that was a little annoying. It was kind of like we can’t be a generation that rides only because a person’s a legend and strictly goes off that factor. When we do something for our generation, step up and acknowledge what happened. Hold it down. That was not something I ever expected to happen.

“I said what I said. I don’t give a fuck. You can’t hoe me. That should be the narrative for any generation. You can’t just hoe us just because you’re a legend. That was weird. It was out of nowhere. It was weird. It was ill-timed. Mac’s [Miller] death had just happened. It was weird.

Kelly adds he wrote “Rap Devil” shortly after Em’s MGK diss was released on Kamikaze last August.

“We went in locker room of a place where we were at and I just did it on the spot after that shit released, in a matter of hours dude,” he continued. “I was with Odell the night before, celebrating the $100 million contract thing. I was still just drunk, like, ‘This muthafucka.'”

MGK then says he penned three verses and called [YBN] Cordae on FaceTime.

“I played him the first three verses,” he explains. “He was like, ‘Yo, this Em you gotta go off.’ I was like, ‘What you mean? I did go off.’ But that’s when I wrote the fourth verse.”

Following MGK’s diss, Em ultimately decided to fire back with “Killshot” after careful consideration. It marked YouTube’s biggest Hip Hop video debut in the platform’s history.

      1. You’re talented.. being able to see past MGK’s balls and type at the same time. Bravo…He pretty much killed himself…Em didn’t do anything really.

      2. Nah, his hardest line was the line at the end about Kim, and that was more of a shot to GEazy than Eminem.. Em hit him multiple times with lines, the “Killshot” had to be “had to give you a career to destroy it”… that was it after that

      3. Dude we give it to Em because he broke those weak MGK bars down and responded in the first 30 seconds of the song. Then, he just humiliated him for the remainder of the song. Also, who uses auto-tune in a diss record?

    1. Em clearly won easally so why we even talking about it anymore stop trying to talk about mgk’s side EM WON WERE DONE.

      1. Eminem even responding to the people he has in recent history just goes to show how downhill Em has gone. In his prime, he wouldn’t ever bother spending the tkme of day on these guys lol. Sad thing is, I think MGKs song sounds better, but obviously isn’t the better diss record. Kind of like how The Takeover sounds better than the Takeover, but everyone knows Ether killed Jay. But, if you walk away with a career after a diss track beef, then nobody really won or lost. It’s like The Game and 50. Who won? Who lost? Both are rich still. 50 VS Ja = 50 won. Eminem VS MGK… Not too sure honestly, as I don’t know what MGKs career is like, although it seems he still makes money.

        1. Prime Em beefed with EVERYBODY the fuck you talking bout? N’sync, Fred Durst, Christina Aguilera, Benzino, Ja Rule, Jermaine Dupri, Moby, Mariah Carey. These are just the ones I remember. If you don’t like it that’s fine but don’t be here trying to rewrite history.

          1. Bro, Eminem didn’t “beef” with NSYNC. He jabbed them, as he jabbed half of anyone who was anyone at the time. He didn’t put out entire diss records to them lol. If he did, it would have been really stupid. A beef is a whole lot different than a silly jab, which is what your describing with some.

            1. All I’m saying is this dude saying Em wouldn’t have given MGK the time of day in his prime is a stupid statement. MGK probably more relevant than Benzino ever was and that guy got two full disses from Em.

        2. so MGK released an EP and an album since Killshot and both flopped (Hotel Diablo is the worst performing album of his career commercially) and you still not sure who won?! LOL!

    2. I just wanna see MGK live… like frfr, I wanna see him kick the drugs and alcohol. Bruh got me scared that he might be on the news because he OD’d.

    3. This diss shit is hella old why kellis still bringing it up oh yea because he love em’s nuttz hahahahahaha

    4. what the he’ll are you guys talking about when em is in his prime. that fool will be in his prime 200 years from now when we’re all dead as f*** his skills are still improving and he is better than ever. a lyrical genus

      1. No, he isn’t better than ever lol. Good lyrics make a good battle rapper, not a good artists. He can make legendary songs anymore.

    5. Why is everyone so one dementional about this. Pay attention hip hop lovers!!! Look, beefs in the industry tend to be more about sharing fan bases and less serious than people think. Eminem said in killshot, “I’ll give you a beef for the effort”. Mgk had been probing for this a long long time. Sometimes when you are a person who is at Eminem’s level of success you can get disconnected from the industry simply because your warn out on who said what about who and when. That is the reason it took Eminem so long to respond. Also, mgk claims his single rap devil was all facts, when it really wasn’t. Pay close attention to all of his claims on rap devil and ask yourself if these claim of his are even something anyone could really know or find out besides Eminem and mgk. Plus mgk co wrots that song with a producer named Ronnie j. All of that being said he rarely writes his own music, and who knows how much of those verses he actually penned. If a person gives input to a writer about the content that they would like to spit about while the writer writes the verse, than technically the wrote the verse together, even if there was really only one person doing the actual writing putting together the lyrical construction among other things. This whole beef is Eminem giving mgk a shot at possibly getting some of Eminem fan base, however when you are an artist probing a legend like em into a beef, you better bring your A game or your fan base might leave you and end up buying ems album instead. Kelly will continue to use this beef as a platform to build off of because it’s the biggest thing to happen in his rap career. Em: ” this is it, the biggest you’re gonna get so enjoy it. Had to give you a career to destroy it”.

And as far as loyalty to a specific artist, y’all beller just be glad Eminem even showed up for this beefto begin with even if he was late to make a diss song. I have no specific loyalty to any artist. I buy hip hop that I like because of it’s lyrical construction. Some people buy for different reasons; sylibol construction, compound rhymes, vocabulary, production value, word play, relatability, cultural connection etc. Buy the music you like and support you faverit artists because you love thier music. Why do you all think revival sold like shit?! Nobody wanted to hear the crap Eminem was talking about on it. He got all but hurt like he always does and it fuled an album that the fans really wanted. I could go on to elaborate an that but I think I’ve written enough on this. If anyone could add to this information, or if I missed something, I’d appreciate it. God bless you hip hop heads I love every on of you!!!! Remember, we are all keeping hip hop alive.
“May the funk ever live” : Nate Dogg.

      1. I think hip hop has turned into trash hop,no community, fun anything it’s all fucked up and ems done more for hip hop than any artist ,toothpick mgk will ride that fame till he dies don’t think em gives a shit hes grown up 3 daughter’s shit coming out his ears he didn’t even have to respond but for him its history and with this new wave jona,Conway, logic even dicky with snoop hopefully hip hop will get out the trap it fell in,and put a that cardi z in the bin too

    6. A truce is impossible, fuck you
It’s over, you was responsible for the drunk you
You punk you, when I see you you better DUCK (down)
BUM!! Wanted them guns to go boom, boom, boom- Royce da 5′ 9

    7. “It was I’ll timed” as if Kamakazi was directed at him, this is ultimately the issue I have with Kelly, he thinks he is more than what he actually is, the centre of attention, he isn’t great like that…yet… If he puts in the effort he might get there…maybe. Until then stay in your lane Kelly.

    8. Other than the trash rapper like ja rule or benzino. Em never called out or dissed any REAL rappers. His career disses are based off pop star and celebrity fame. In his prime he was nice but he wasnt dissing no jay or nas or jada or dudes like that REAL EMCEE. He played the bully to other genres.

      1. Ja Rule at the height of his career was considered one of the best rappers. And em went toe to toe with jay z on renegade.
Besides the last real rap beef between good rappers we’re jay and nas. Wayne never battled anyone good neither Cole nor Kendrick

      2. You’re an idiot, Why diss Jay, Nas or Jada if they’re on his best rappers of all time list? have you listened to Till I Collapse? you’re an idiot.

      3. What about Canabis, G? He’s definitely a “real rapper” as you say, the guy who took out LL Cool J. Eminem destroyed him.

      4. You know nothing about hip hop clearly and why would he diss those guys when he makes songs with them? You diss people who you have a reason to diss, like cannabis who is very lyrical and got destroyed. Nobody else dared to go after him and still don’t to this day.

    9. “What you mean? I did go off. But that’s when I wrote the 4th verse” lmaooo what you mean? That whole Rap Devil shit was garbage nursery rhymes. MGK needs to quit acting like he did this for the culture and because Em went at the new generation, he knows where all this stems from and it ain’t what he said here. MGK’s diss was a 4/10 at best. Not saying Em’s was a 10 either, I give it a solid 7.5/10 but that’s all it takes to kill MGK

    10. I’m sorry but Colston does not represent any generation. He’s just a spoiled little brat who needs to self-accept that L and stfu.

    11. man this dude can’t be serious… so he released an EP and an album since Killshot, both of them flopped (Hotel Diablo is commercially the worst performing album of his career) and still thinks he won?! LOL! MGK, have seat next to Ja and Benzino please….

    12. Why’d he mention Mac Miller’s death as a reason? Kamikaze was released before he died and Mgk put out rap devil before Mac died. Killshot came out a little over week after his death.. some would argue Eminem delayed his diss track out of respect for Mac

    13. Good diss. Em stans won’t admit it because they in they feelings so hard. Its just rap guys. Em don’t even know yall ?????

      1. MGGay fans are in denial that there boy got his ass handed to him effortlessly. MGGay isn’t blowing y’all

      2. I admit Rap Devil was a damn good diss but Em came back with the “Killshot” which destroyed MGK. He even admitted it multiple times so you can hop off his joy stick bro. Maybe your feelings are to much in this?

    14. Lmao MGK killed that boring ass dude Em haha old heads on here mad as ever! Between cole and em idk who puts me to sleep faster

      1. wow ….. I would srsly like to know ur age .. then i guess i can judge you fairly …. If you are under 16 ..i forgive you .. u r still a kid ..u’ll mature don’t worry … But if you are grown ass adult saying this shit …. I srsly think u need to get your brain checked

      2. Man I’m 23 and I’m just saying you must be drunk too. Em killed MGK. What it boils down to is the fact that while yeah Em falls off ever so often and has a few tracks or in the case of “Revival” an entire album that’s like wtf which still had a few good tracks but he writes shit with heart and meaning. MGK is a mainstream asswhipe that ain’t put out a decent track since “Wild Boy”. He was washed up before he ever really started.

    15. on that one song he got Em in my opinion. But the brand of Shady is just too big, so ultimately a battle was won and a war was lost.

    16. Fueled by alcohol and ghoat writers, none of his bars before or since have ever been that good…and still wasnt cloae to enough to bring down the ?

    17. Never heard of eminem till monster came out and Bebe rexha had penned it. If mgk had come out when eminem did. There be no eminem because he fail without song writers. #smokefit.us
