Hip Hop maintained its strong presence in the Billboard 200’s Top 10, adding two new entries in the latest chart. Moneybagg Yo and YG were among the best debuts of the week after their respective projects each moved more than 36,000 units.
DJ Khaled and Tyler The Creator continued to perform well in their second week on the chart, remaining in the Top 3. Khaled held onto his No. 2 spot while Tyler slipped from No. 1 to No. 3.
Elsewhere, Lizzo returned to the Top 10 after spending the previous week at No. 13. Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion fell to No. 31 after debuting at No. 10.

Moneybagg Yo Reaches New Career High
Moneybagg Yo’s quiet yet consistent success on the charts continued with the release of 43va Heartless. The CMG artist’s latest mixtape became his best-charting project to date, debuting at No. 4 with just under 40,000 total album equivalent units sold.

Yo’s previous high mark was achieved when his Federal 3X tape peaked at No. 5 in September 2017. The Memphis-bred rapper topped that by selling 39,512 units of 43va Heartless in its first week. 5,238 of those units came from pure album sales.
YG Secures Top 10 Debut
YG’s oft-delayed 4REAL 4REAL still managed to secure a spot in Top 10 despite some false starts over the past few months. After pushing back the LP’s release date multiple times, the West Coast stalwart’s latest work debuted at No. 7 with 36,715 total units sold.

While a Top 10 debut can hardly be considered a disappointment, YG’s albums are experiencing a downward trend. Since his breakthrough album My Krazy Life hit No. 1 in 2014, each subsequent release has had a lower peak. 2016’s Still Brazy’s high point was No. 3 and 2018’s STAY DANGEROUS peaked at No. 5.
Beast Coast Cracks Top 30
Pro Era, Flatbush Zombies and The Underachievers — together known as Beast Coast — scored a Top 30 debut for their first LP as a supergroup. The collective’s inaugural album Escape From New York reached No. 29 by selling 16,103 total units. 6,929 of those units came from pure album sales.

Beast Coast brought together an impressive array of talent under one banner, but it couldn’t repeat the success of the individual members. Pro Era’s Joey Bada$$ previously had two solo albums peak at No. 5. Flatbush Zombies also reached the Top 10 in 2016.
However, Beast Coast’s No. 29 debut represented a new career high for The Underachievers. The duo’s previous peak was No. 86.
