An entertainment reporter at CNN says Drake didn’t actually give two employees at a Los Angeles McDonald’s $10,000 cash as originally believed. According to Chloe Melas, the tip was a fraction of that.
“I’ve just confirmed with the PR company who represents @McDonalds that @Drake did not tip $10,000 to the employees,” Melas tweeted. “He gave them $100 each.”
The news started making the rounds on Wednesday (January 30) after Twitter user @imajnoel — who was at the same McDonald’s when Drake walked in — claimed he’d witnessed the philanthropic Toronto superstar hand $10,000 in cash to two female employees.
But, apparently that wasn’t the case. @imajnoel will likely have some explaining to do.

Drake was evidently in a giving mood earlier this week when he walked into a McDonald’s looking for some grub. According to a witness, the 6 God handed two women working at the fast food establishment $10,000 in cash.
“Just saw Drake in McDonald’s…crazy,” the witness tweeted. “And he have two female employees $10,000 each … in cash.”
When pressed for details, the witness provided a photo of Drizzy at the counter surrounded by two security guards, including one who was proudly rocking the OVO logo on his hoodie.

Drake exhibited similar behavior while shooting the video for “God’s Plan” in Miami last February. The philanthropic Toronto superstar paid for people’s groceries, gave a University of Miami college student $50,000, took a housekeeper on a $10,000 shopping spree, donated $25,000 to Miami Senior High School and donated $50,000 to the Lotus House Women’s Shelter — and those are just the donations that were made public.
He also walked up to people on the street and handed them stacks of cash as they burst into tears. In total, he spent roughly $996,631.90 on good deeds.
