Hollywood, CA

Several people were reportedly injured on Monday night (October 8) during an event for Phora at the famous intersection of Hollywood and Highland in Los Angeles. According to Billboard, the LAPD said security hired for the event were unable to handle the mob of people that turned up outside the Shoe Palace once the Anaheim rapper jumped on top of a car to greet fans.

In an interview with ABC 7 Los Angeles following the event, Phora issued an apology.

“I apologize to the LAPD. I apologize to the fans from the bottom of my heart,” Phora said. “I think it’s just because it was so hot, there were so many people. I’m claustrophobic myself … I’m about to pass out.”

Phora addressed the incident via Twitter on Monday (October 9).

“The love tonight was real,” he wrote. “Over 6,000 people showed up in LA. We bought hundreds of shoes for people. And ended up getting shut down. I appreciate the love, thank you to the fans. Forever owe it to you.”

Phora’s latest project, Love Is Hell, was released on October 5 and features 6LACK, Trippie Redd and more.
