Nick Cannon has yet another project in the works and this time around he’s recruited the help of two Hip Hop veterans.
According to Bossip, Cannon will be producing a new crime series titled The Yay Area. Helping the actor/rapper on the production end will be E-40 and Too Short, two artists who hail from Oakland, California.
Given the socio-political climate present in today’s society, Cannon reportedly wants to capitalize on the timing of The Yay Area.
The Yay Area will take on social and political topics involving the Bay Area’s drug culture, biker gang, and the Black Panthers.
News of the television show comes as Cannon is on the road for his Wild’N Out Tour, which is scheduled to hit cities across the U.S. all the way through November.
Pre-production For The Yay Area is set to begin sometime this fall.

They need to have DJ Fresh, Traxamillion and The Mekanix produce the music score and be the music directors for this. Need that real bay area sound playing when those episodes air.

first and foremost i greet you with honnor and respect. second i find it ironic that nick cannon didn’t do his research throughly for this project. how can you do a project about the real bay without checking in with the real OG’s like myself and other real cats to get the real about the bay. true it is a fact that short is from oak-town and 40 from V-Town, but the true players that are still here like myself who have lost love ones to the bay in the 80’s drug war like myselk and RED walker and other real cats havent even been interviewed. I am one of the most proliftic film makers in the bay google me my nephew Damon Jamal Keven Epps and many more that nick needs to tap in there are some real cats who realley don’t feel nick for not tapping in or should i say check in with. To tell the story about the bay and not talk to the real cats that are about this life is foul and fake…feel free to holla at me in a real way
