Fans won’t hear Redman’s long-awaited Muddy Waters Too until 2019, but the Funk Doc is still providing listeners with some new music. The Def Squad rhymer’s latest drop is a video for his latest single, “Ya!”

The high-energy arrives on the heels of his “I Love Hip Hop” anthem, which celebrated the ’90s. Like that track, “Ya!” is anchored by some vintage boom bap drums, providing the background for Reggie Noble’s potent rhymes.

Although these singles will only increase anticipation for Muddy Waters Too, Redman believes the LP’s worth the wait. In June, he spoke to HipHopDX about what fans can expect.

“I can tell the fans that know Redman and my quality of work that they will not be disappointed,” he told DX. “I’m confident about my statement for the reason [that] I’m not afraid. I’m not afraid to represent that ’90s era and flavor. I’m not afraid to go back to that analog sound and feel while everyone’s digital. ’90s fuckin’ rule hands down, and you will hear on my album the love I have for my era!”
