Fans were bummed after hearing that FX dropped plans for Donald Glover’s animated Deadpool series, citing creative differences. However, amid speculation the show’s demise was caused by Glover’s hectic schedule, the versatile artist set the record straight with a 15-page “leak” of a script titled ”Finale” on Wednesday (March 28).

“For the record: I wasn’t too busy to work on Deadpool,” he wrote before posting the script page by page.

Packed with timely references ranging from Bitcoin fluctuations to Fortnite and Tekashi 6ix9ine, it has the ingredients of an edgy hit TV show.

The 15-page write-up appears to be an intelligent response (and commentary) on the Deadpool show’s demise as opposed to an actual show script. References to Beyoncé face-biting and wondering aloud if the show’s cancellation was in fact due to racism are among the topics in the piece.

While the show is in limbo, for now, this script stands as an example of what the Deadpool series could be with Glover at the helm. It’s unclear if Marvel has plans to shop the show to other networks now that FX is out.
