The wait is almost over. The second season of Atlanta,Donald Glover’s critically acclaimed FX original series, premieres next month. To promote the occasion, FX has released the new trailer for Atlanta: Robbin’ Season.
The show’s concept revolves around blossoming music manager Earn Marks (Glover) who is attempting to get his cousin Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles’ (Brian Tyree Henry) rap career off the ground.
Robbin’ Season refers to the time right before Christmas and New Year’s Day, when crime rates typically skyrocket. In the trailer, we’re offered a one-minute and 15-second glimpse into Marks and Miles’ lives during this period.
“People have to get Christmas gifts, so it’s a time where robbery will go up. You might get your package stolen from the front porch,” writer (and Donald’s brother) Stephen Glover told The Hollywood Reporter in January. “It’s just a very tense and desperate time.”
