Things are beginning to look even bleaker for R. Kelly, the Pied Piper of R&B, now that the fallout from last month’s sex cult allegations are beginning to take a toll on his upcoming concerts.
Days after R. Kelly uploaded video to Twitter letting fans know that he “will be coming to the East Coast” for his The After Party Tour, it turns out that this isn’t quite the case.
TMZ reports that nearly half of the crooner’s upcoming tour dates have been canceled. Of the 10 tour dates, four of them were axed as of Monday (July 31).
Among the canceled shows are two in Louisiana, one in Dallas, and a show in Los Angeles. Poor tickets sales are reportedly to blame for the cancellations.

Despite this latest blow for Kelly, sources claim that the Los Angeles cancellation was due to a scheduling conflict involving another show. It is unclear if the L.A. show will be rescheduled.
News of the canceled shows serves as the latest batch of drama to surface, following July’s release of a Buzzfeed story accusing R. Kelly of running a sex-fueled cult and “brainwashing” young adult girls.
Kelz has since referred to the cult allegations as “a bunch of crap.”
