Vince Staples addressed Lil Wayne and Birdman’s fallout, and other notable Hip Hop moments from 2015, during a MTV interview.

Long Beach, California rapper Vince Staples offered a candid and humorous take on the biggest Hip Hop happenings of 2015, during a newly-released interview.

In regards to the fallout between Lil Wayne and Birdman, he says it was “great” given the pair’s troubled history. He also expressed his interest in a new album from Birdman.

“I think that was great,” Vince Staples said of Lil Wayne and Birdman’s beef. “Cause they’ve had a troubled past, a very interesting history. That has less to do with the situation and more to do with Twitter control. Lil Wayne is too old to use Twitter. And when you’re too old to use Twitter, you use it poorly. And that’s kinda what happened there. And, you know, they kissed on ‘Rap City.’ And all love stories come to a sad end. It’s like Titanic…I think we need a Birdman album more than we need a Lil Wayne album right now.”

As a friend of both Ghostface Killah and Action Bronson, Staples revealed that the feud between the two was one he wished never happened.

“I’m on Ghostface album,” he said. “And Action Bronson is my friend, so I wish that never happened. It puts me in a very awkward situation. But I feel like they should play a game of one-on-one basketball. I’ll do the announcements and we’ll get it cracking.”
