The holiday season is considered a time for giving and that’s what 2 Chainz is doing.

The Atlanta rapper, through his TRU Foundation charity, decided to give into the spirit of the times and visited a Palmetto, Georgia family on Saturday. Not only that, he equipped the family, a member of which is a disabled veteran, with brand new furniture and offered to pay their rent for an entire year.

“It’s hard to keep gas in the car, food in the house, and do everything by myself being a single parent,” Dierdre Plater, one of those living at the home, told CBS 46. “I am on a fixed income.” Plater, who recently had surgery and has been looking for a job for nearly a year, was overwhelmed by the gesture of kindness. “I love to see stuff like this happen for other people, but I never thought it would happen to me.”

2 Chainz surprised Plater and her son at their apartment. She also relayed that she couldn’t believe that something like this could happen to her family.

“I love to see stuff like this happen for other people, but I never thought it would happen to me,” she said. Part of the funs from the rapper’s Ugly Christmas Sweater sales went to fund his latest charitable endeavor.
