During a newly-released interview with AllHipHop.com, the Miami, Florida-based group ¡MAYDAY! provided an update on the recent exits from the group. The group first explained that adding and taking members out of ¡MAYDAY! isn’t out of the norm.

They later shared the details on Plex Luthor leaving the group. According to those in ¡MAYDAY!, Plex left due to obligations at home, and to also “focus more on studio work.”

“We’ve always brought members in,” one member of ¡MAYDAY! said. “Took members out. That’s always been a thing. He came in five years after ¡MAYDAY! even existed, so it’s one of those things where we’re kind of like a Wu-Tang in that sense…The thing is the road life is a tough life. A lot of people can’t handle it. In terms of Plex, he was the oldest one out of all of us. He has two kids. And his kids got to the age where he couldn’t be away from them anymore. They were getting to those teenage years where it was like he has to kind of be around…He just decided to take a step back and kinda focus more on studio work.”

The group later revealed that ¡MAYDAY! member Gianni Cash was unable to join them on their current tour and had to be temporarily replaced, since he too had obligations at home to take care of.

“Gio’s not here,” they said. “We had to bring a replacement because Gio just had his second child as well. So, he couldn’t go on this specific tour. He’s slated to go on the next tour, but it’s just one of those things where the music is what’s most important, 100 percent. And we need to be able to perform the music and get it out there to the people.”
