The Pharrell Williams-produced Dope is set to release on Friday (June 19) after being featured at the Sundance Film Festival.

XXL asked some of the stars of the movie what was the first Hip Hop album they bought.

Shameik Moore says he bought At. Long. Last. A$AP., the sophomore album from one of his Dope co-stars, A$AP Rocky.

“That was the first whole album I ever bought,” Moore says.

A$AP Rocky’s ex-girlfriend Chanel Iman says, “probably a Bow Wow or Lil Romeo album.”

“When I was a young girl, my mom wouldn’t let me listen to rap unless it was, like, clean,” she says.

Amin Joseph says his father bought him a Public Enemy album.

“He was like, ‘This is what you need to listen to…’ My pops is kind of a fist-in-the-air type,” he says.

The movie is about a geeky boy (Moore) who lives in Inglewood, California. His life is turned upside down when he attends the birthday party of a drug dealer (A$AP Rocky) and accidentally runs away with his product.
