Drake has always been known to have an affinity for the city of Houston and once again the Canadian-born rapper is at it again with the 2015 version of his Houston Appreciation Weekend.

Thursday night, the event began with a Bun B tribute. Houston’s mayor, Annise Parker, also spoke at the ceremony held in honor of the city. Comedian Hannibal Buress made an appearance to do a stand-up set and it was on.

To close Thursday night, Drake decided to take a more somber approach and pay the UGK emcee a debt of gratitude explaining that he made him “a lot cooler than I was.”

On Friday, a celebrity softball game was held in which singer Ne-Yo, NY Giants Wide Receiver O’Dell Beckham Jr. and Cleveland Browns Wide Receiver Dwayne Bowe all participated in.
