For the 12th annual BET Awards, the show had a whole bunch of things planned to attempt to make this show bigger than ever. Aside from handing out awards to Kanye West (Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and Video of the Year for “Jesus Walks”) Jaime Foxx (Best Actor) and Usher (Best Male R&B Artist), the show had a bevy of things planned to keep the crowd entertained.

A surprise performance by The Fugees kicked off the event with what has been said to be a subpar showing by Lauryn Hill. Afterwards, a horse and carriage brought out the hosts for this year’s festivities, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith. The duo gave the crowd a showing, from setting a hilarious set of rules before accepting an award (“There’s a three homeboy rule”) to Will bringing the entire cast of “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” onto the stage, they really were a treat to see.

Best Group winners, Destiny’s Child also had a few tricks up their sleeve as they randomly snatched up Nelly, Terrance Howard, and Magic Johnson onstage during their performance of “Cater 2 U” for a hot and steamy lap dance.

John Legend, who won Best New Artist, got the chance of a lifetime and performed “My Cherie Amour” with Stevie Wonder. Omarion won the Viewer’s Choice Award shortly after he simply brought it with his electric performance. This capped off a night of festivities that, if you missed the first time, is sure to be replayed again, and again, and again.
