Blink 182’s Travis Barker and Rancid’s Tim Armstrong have linked up to create The Transplants– a rock group with plenty of punk cred. But to make things really interesting, the group is looking to do something no other rock group has done before… make a chopped and screwed rock album.
The group has enlisted the duties of Houston’s Paul Wall to put a different spin on their debut album Haunted Cities which has just been released. For those who don’t know, chopped and screwed is a slowed-down version of an album that was made famous in Texas by the late DJ Screw (hence the name).
The chopped and screwed version is due out later this summer while Paul Wall is getting set to drop his album People’s Champ later this summer while The Transplants album features the likes of B-Real and Sen Dog of Cypress Hill, Dilated People’s Rakaa and the Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E.
