A few months ago Chingy removed himself from Ludacris’ DTP family after saying that he was owed money that had not been received. The incident left a bitter taste in DTP’s mouths and Chingy moved on with his career while linking back up with his original group The Git It Boyz and releasing his sophomore album Powerballin.
But now it seems like the tables have turned. Reports are stating that The Git It Boyz have been experiencing the same problems that Chingy supposedly encountered with DTP. Even though Chingy agreed that his crew would receive 100% of their publishing and compensated for hitting the road, it seems as if Chingy is holding out on his boys.
Even though Chingy was reportedly making over $40,000 a show, his crew ended up with a grand total of $400 per show. Not to mention that while G.I.B. contributed to the Coach Carter and XXX soundtracks they still haven’t received their cut. Now the G.I.B. decided along with their manager and publicist they should receive what is rightfully theirs. After meeting with lawyers, they are slowing coming to an agreement.
Chingy stated that “He had to learn the game the hard way, and it shouldn’t be any different for the G.I.B.” and has refused to meet the payment demands. So where does this story go from here? We’ll just have to wait and see how it all unfolds.
