It’s about that time again. Kanye West is just about ready to release the follow up to his Grammy winning smash College Dropout, the aptly titled Late Registration.

The rapper, who comes equipped with a Louis Vitton backpack, premiered his new single “Diamonds” in New York’s Hot 97. The song, which was inspired by Jay-Z’s 2001 Blueprint tour and memories of being a part of Roc-A-Fella at its peak, addresses a few things. He speaks about his still pleasant relationship with Dame Dash (“You know the next question, ‘Yo, where’s Dame at?’/ This track’s the Indian dance to bring our reign back.”) and documents his progress in the rap game.

Jay-Z told Angie Martinez that West ended up mixing has album about 14 times before he finally felt that it was just right.

The tentative date for Late Registration is July 12th according to Kanye.
