Biggie is headed for the big screen. P Diddy, Biggie’s mother and Training Day director Antoine Fuqua are joining forces to bring Notorious B.I.G.’s story back to life. But this will not be a documentary like Tupac: Resurrection, instead this will be an actual movie.

According to MTV, the movie is being shopped to several different studios including MTV Films. Cheo Hodari Coker, author of “Unbelievable: The Life, Death and Afterlife of the Notorious B.I.G.,” has been recruited to write the screenplay. The film will focus on Biggie’s life as a son and a father and will also open up the book on Biggie’s life including little known facts that only those close to him would be familiar with. The finished script is expected by summer.

The hard part is finding someone to “be” Biggie.

“It’s going to be challenging to cast a B.I.G.,” Wayne Barrow (who handles business matters for Voletta Wallace) said. “We’ve thrown a few names around, like Big O [actor Waverly W. Alford II] from ‘8 Mile.’ Maybe Anthony Anderson … because he has the humor. A few people said Guerilla Black, but we don’t know how that’s going to play out.”

Others close to B.I.G. may be called upon to play themselves, depending on their role and availability. The movie may begin filming next year.
