Neo-Soul upstart D’Angelo has been out of the public eye almost completely since his last album. But now he is back in the media- but not in the way he would like to be. He was arrested recently for an incident in which he was stopped for DWI. A search of the singer’s vehicle turned up substances which are believed to be cocaine and marijuana. His arraignment has been pushed back to February 11th.
EA Sports’ next installment to the Street series comes in the form of “NBA Street V3” and will feature another host of hip hop personalities. This time around the Beastie Boys will make their debut in a video game. The group will represent their hometown New York Knicks in the three-on-three over the top hoop action. Their 9-11 themed song “An Open Letter to NYC” will also be featured in the game’s soundtrack along with tracks from De La Soul, Guerilla Black and others.
Andre 3000 will once again flex his acting muscle. But instead of acting, the OutKast member will lend his voice to a star studded-cast for a live-action/animated adaptation of “Charlotte’s Web.” Alongside acting heavyweights such as Julia Roberts (Charlotte), Dakota Fanning (the child Fern), Oprah Winfrey and Cedric the Entertainer (the geese Gussie and Golly), Kathy Bates and Reba McEntire (cows Bitsey and Betsy) and others, Andre will voice the dimwitted crow Elwyn. Production begins January 31st.
