Before G-Unit fans are treated to a studio album from the group later this year, a mixtape from the newly-reunited group will be released. 50 Cent spoke on both a mixtape and album from G-Unit during a recent interview with Hot 93.7’s Jenny Boom Boom.

According to the Queens rapper, an album from G-Unit will be released in either November or December of this year and will be preceded by a mixtape. He also spoke on the current dynamics of G-Unit as he revealed that any issues among group members were always aimed towards him and not Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, or Young Buck.

“G-Unit album will be late November, early December,” 50 Cent said in a video posted on HotNewHipHop.com. “Yeah, the mixtape is coming. We did that one last night…It feels good to just be back in work mode…They never had issues with each other. It’s always my issue with [one of them]…Well, when they have that point—that energy is pointed towards me, it feels weird because we rode my wave to the beach. You know what I’m saying?”

Among the numerous film projects 50 Cent is set to work on is one that will focus on the Black Mafia Family (BMF). While speaking with Jenny Boom Boom, 50 revealed that that particular project is one of 10 films he received funding for.

“It was a project that was brought to us by Lionsgate,” he said. “And with Barry and Stan and them over at Grindstone. They talked to us about it and then I said I’d actually do it. So, I put the BMF movie together and made sure it’s done properly…The rights to the actual film was already [packaged]. So, it’s like I was able to pick it up because somebody has to execute the finances connected to it. And that’s what I do. I raised $200 million. We broke it into 10 pictures. Sold the rest of the rights to Lionsgate.”

Talk of a mixtape and studio album from G-Unit comes weeks after the group’s surprise reunion at Hot 97 Summer Jam. Despite criticism of G-Unit from 50 Cent over the past few months, the rapper brought out Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, and Young Buck during his headlining performance during the music festival.
