While Shyne sits in a prison cell because of his role in a club shooting back in 1997, he will be able to share his tales of wild ordeal with a Former New York State Senator- Guy Velella. Velella, who was convicted of bribery charges, reportedly is sharing a prison unit at Rikers Island with the former Bad Boy rapper.
Velella returned to jail this past Monday to finish a one-year sentence for conspiring to funnel public contracts to bribe-payers last spring. He was originally sentenced to a year in prison but was released through the Local Conditional Release Commission three months later.
Shyne will be locked up slightly longer than Velella, he’s not up for parole until 2009. In the meantime Shyne will be teaming up with Mark Wahlberg to produce the as-yet-titled documentary comparing and contrasting their lives.
