According to sources, rapper Foxy Brown has signed a deal with Jay-Z’s new label, S. Carter Records. Although this rumor has been mounting steam in the past few months, nothing is concrete. A source close to the deal says the deal cannot be formally announced because Jay-Z has not settled on a distribution deal for his imprint.

“Lyor [Cohen] was with Jay-Z in Chicago on tour and LA Reid was with him soon after” says the source. “He is getting offers from everybody but since the Roc-A-Fella deal is not really done nothing can be made official.” The Roc deal has been rumored to be LA Reid purchasing the imprint from Dame Dash, Kareem “Biggs” Burke and Jay-Z but has apparently hit a snag because the $20 million offer was too low for the label.

If the deal is done it will reunite the Brooklyn pair for the first time in almost 8 years. Foxy Brown has had her own problems stemming from a fall out with both Def Jam and Bad Boy in the past. Her much anticipated Ill Na Na 2: The Fever has been held in limbo since. Nothing is concrete yet but you’ll be the first to know as soon as we do.
