Scion has made it no secret that the direction of it’s marketing campaign is directed toward the hip-hop audience and in Las Vegas at the House of Blues Scion put on one helluva show.
The night began with Vegas’ own DJ 5ive on the 1’s and 2’s delivering the hottest in commercial and underground hip-hop. Soon thereafter the Hip-Hop Orchestra took the stage and put it down (if you haven’t seen them you should). They covered Roots joints as well as Gang Starr hits. And rocking the mic alongside the orchestra was none other than Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal. Guru rocked the hell out of the crowd and soon after showcased some songs off of his new album (scheduled for an early 2005 release). Haul and Mason did their thing and then Jazzy Jeff rocked the house.
All and all it was a memorable evening.
