The seriousness of applying for college usually contains no room for fun or laughs. Tufts University is a school that has been known to make light of applying for college even though the school itself is very prestigious.

This year, the Boston-area based school decided to reference Drake on its application under the essay section. Gawker uncovered that as one of six optional essay prompts for the school’s mandatory writing supplement, Tufts asked students to write a short essay based on the topic: “What does #YOLO mean to you?” The full instructions are as follows.

“The ancient Romans started it when they coined the phrase “Carpe diem.” Jonathan Larson proclaimed “No day but today!” and most recently, Drake explained You Only Live Once (YOLO). Have you ever seized the day? Lived like there was no tomorrow? Or perhaps you plan to shout YOLO while jumping into something in the future. What does #YOLO mean to you?”

In the past, Tufts has asked students to create quirky YouTube videos about themselves and in 2010, invited applicants to “create something” out of a sheet of paper.

Sounds like a different option than most schools offer. As a side note, Tufts University used to be a clown college.
