A little over a year after Damon Dash’s DD172 art gallery and event space was closed, the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder has plans on opening yet another art gallery. According to BoweryBoogie.com, Dash’s new Chelsea gallery, Poppington, will be opened to the public on September 27 at 7 P.M.

The opening of the gallery will be joined by the debut of its first exhibition, “Quality Of Life.” “Quality Of Life” will consist of works from a number of street artists including Phil, Jim Joe, and Pixote.

Months after closing the doors to DD172 back in June 2011, Dash and the other owners of DD172 were hit with several counts of storing and selling alcohol without a license.

DD172 is now the name of Dash’s “umbrella organization that redefines the term ‘media collective’ by showcasing art on a variety of platforms.”
