Lupe Fiasco is currently doing the promo rounds for his upcoming album Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1, releasing September 25th. During an interview with HHS1987, the Chicago, Illinois native said that the double-disc album will tout American themes and that the second disc will be more “musically experimental” than the first.
“There’s the concepts, using America as a concept, using the American agenda, politics, society – whatever. Americana. And that’s half and half of that, and that’s the album,” he explained. “There’s definitely a different sound on each album. We did all the songs in one pop. The second album is probably a little bit more musically experimental than the first one, but the content – I hesitate to say that, because it might just be one song, two songs – but the content is the same throughout the album. It’s the American experience in a Rap album.”
