Ne-Yo raised eyebrows when he announced that he would be changing the title of his next album to The R.E.D. Album.

But according to the singer, there’s no issue. “No … I don’t feel like I ripped off The Game’s album,” said the singer to TMZ, adding that the album title was chosen simply because it was fitting.

“Until The Game comes up to me and says he has a problem with it, I don’t care what people think,” he added.

Ne-Yo pointed out that it’s not the first time an artist has reused an album name. “Jay-Z did The Blueprint and so did KRS-One.”

What Ne-Yo failed to mention, however, was that Jay’s reuse of the title was fodder for Nas’ seminal diss track, “Ether.”
