Redman has revealed that Eminem was so blown away by Muddy Waters Too that they spent “three hours straight” texting each other about it.

Speaking to Ambrosia For Heads alongside Xzibit, the New Jersey rap legend detailed Em’s excited reaction to his latest album and their lengthy text conversation.

“Me and [Eminem] were texting for three hours one day while I was in the gym, while I went to this appointment. He was actually listening to the album, texting me after each song — for three hours straight!” he said.

“That’s my young bruh. Em, you already know you my young bruh. It was amazing ’cause he was like, ‘Yo, you said this! Oh, I quit.’ He gave me so much energy.”

Redman also shed light on Xzibit’s lofty praise for his long-awaited Muddy Waters sequel, which finally arrived this past December.

“And then when me and X text, he was just letting me know like, ‘Yo bro, that’s what I’m talking about!’ In other words, you’re sticking to your sound — that’s what wins,” he added.

“So he gave me the confirmation that I was doing my job. And honestly, that’s the only thing I needed. Because [Xzibit] is top tier, Eminem is top tier, and if I don’t hear from nobody else, I’m fine with it.”

Eminem has never been shy in giving Redman his props and threw his support behind Muddy Waters Too when it dropped last year.

“One of my all time favorite rappers [goat emojis] … man I been waiting for this @therealredman #muddywaters,” Em wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The self-proclaimed Rap God famously ranked Redman among his favorite MCs on his 2002 hit “‘Till I Collapse.”

“I got a list, here’s the order of my list that it’s in / It goes: Reggie, JAY-Z, 2Pac and Biggie / André from OutKast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas, and then me,” he rapped.

In 2023, Em was spotted wearing a T-shirt referencing his iconic rhymes — prompting a response from the former Def Squad rapper who was selling the shirts in collaboration with NYC-based skateboarding store Richmond Hood.

“My Young Bro @eminem stay Repping and got his IT GOES REGGIE TEE!” he wrote on Instagram. “ONLY at www.Richmondhood.com. @richmondhoodco. If it ain’t got the Yellow Tag it’s a FAKE !! Fuck with the ORIGINALS.”

Though collaborations between the two rap icons have been few and far between, they did team up on the 2000 track “Off the Wall,” which appeared on the soundtrack for The Nutty Professor II.
