In February, it was revealed that singer-songwriter Santigold would be collaborating with Odd Future’s Earl Sweatshirt.

Since that time, Santi has released her sophomore album, Master of My Make-Believe, but no collaboration with Earl has materialized.

Still, in an interview with MTV News, she stated that the collaboration is currently in progress, and is coming soon. “I saw a tweet. I guess somebody re-tweeted that Earl said ‘I like Santigold, would love to do something.’ And I was like, ‘OK!’ ” she said of the project’s origin.

“I mean, he’s so cool, he’s such a cute, awesome dude,” she added. “And they were at Coachella, and they were the first ones up onstage — we invite people up onstage [during her performance] — and they came and did some major booty-shaking moves. And a couple of them came to our MOCA show in LA. We did this event that Mike D curated … and they came there and caught the show.”

So when can fans expect to hear the track? “I don’t have many plans these days. I just kinda, like, soon as I can get stuff done,” she said. “It’s something I really want to do, so hopefully it will be done soon.”
