This week, DMX made his triumphant return to New York City, New York, where he performed at S.O.B.’s. But it was with a radio interview that pushed him back into the spotlight, as the gruff emcee slandered Rick Ross and Drake during the conversation. Meanwhile, Q-Tip, Common and Nas are rumored to be joining forces as super group The Standard after Nas gave the affirmative for a collaboration between the three, and MTV crowned Rick Ross as the Hottest MC of 2011.

DMX Returns, Slanders Drake & Rick Ross

This week, DMX made his triumphant return to New York City, New York, performing a homecoming show with special guest Swizz Beatz at S.O.B.’s. But Dark Man X really stirred the pot when he did an interview with Power 105’s The Breakfast Club, stating that he’s not very impressed by Rick Ross’ lyrical content and that he “doesn’t like anything about Drake. I don’t like his fucking voice. I don’t like what he talks about. I don’t like his face. I don’t like the way he walks. Nothing.”

Q-Tip, Common & Nas Rumored To Team As Super Group The Standard

Though it’s all just hearsay, rumors were flying this week that Common, Q-Tip and Nas were planning on joining forces as super group The Standard. The origins of the project lie in 2007, when Tip and Com announced that they would be forming the super group. But, according to the New York Daily News, Nas is slated to get in on the action, though official plans are yet to be made for an album. When asked if he would be recording with the pair, Nas proclaimed, “Definitely,” fueling speculation that the trio could be hitting the studio relatively soon. In the meantime, Nasir is working on his upcoming LP Life is Good, while Tip is recording the follow-up to his 2008 sophomore release The Renaissance.
