Young Jeezy recently chopped it up with Shade 45’s Statik Selektah about everything from his latest album TM103 to how he promoted his mixtape Trap or Die by handing out 700,000 copies. During the chat, he also revealed that he had to fight to get the intro track “Thug Motivation 101” on TM101 on the album and how his label, Def Jam, tried to block it from the LP.

“Crazy story with that shit. I was fighting to get that song on the record. The label wanted to take it off. I was like, y’all fucking crazy. It was one of those things. In the beginning, a lot of motherfuckers didn’t know where I was going with it. I had to stand on that. It was one of those win or lose things, and I feel like I won, you feel me? It was a dark time, but it was a lot of money.

Watch the two-part interview below, where he also speaks on CTE, the ban on Snowman shirts in schools and more.
