Rap battles have long mythologized as the place where up and coming emcees and established artists can put their skills to the test. Many Hip Hop fans believe a rapper isn’t truly worth his salt if he can’t stand toe to toe with another emcee and spit off the top of the dome. If you’ve ever wanted to know what that was like but didn’t want to get embarrassed in front of a room full of strangers then now may be your chance to do so.
Rap Battles is a new video game that attempts to give its players a little taste of what it’s like to be an emcee. The game comes with a boom box with pre-loaded beats. The contestants will then have to rap along to the beat successfully. If they do so they are awarded money by the designated rap manager. The first player to reach $1000 is the winner.
The game comes with the boom box, 40 rap cards, 40 star cards, dice, and rap dollars. It retails for about 30 dollars American, though at this point the only site that seems to be selling the game is a British one.
