21 Savage has switched up his style and shown off a new look inspired by Snoop Dogg — to the approval of Tha Doggfather.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (April 8), the Atlanta-via-London rapper posted a bathroom selfie which showed him with his hair grown out in a style reminiscent of Doggystyle-era Snoop.

21 himself acknowledged the parallels, writing in the caption: “Thinking about going throwback snoop on you female dogs.”

Snoop later reacted to the homage by reposting the photo on his own Instagram page and adding: “My dogg.”

21 Savage is not the first rapper to don a hairstyle inspired by the West Coast rap legend.

Last year, Drake shared a pouty selfie on social media showing him wearing his hair in two braided pigtails, similar to how Snoop Dogg wore his hair in the early ’00s.

The selfie came after Drizzy involved Snoop in his high-profile beef with Kendrick Lamar.

The Toronto native used AI to recreate Snoop and 2Pac’s voices for his controversial diss song “Taylor Made Freestyle,” which was later removed following legal threats from the latter’s estate.

Soon after the song was released on social media, Snoop posted a video online capturing his bemused reaction to his “feature.”

“They did what? When? How? Are you sure? [Sigh] Y’all have a good night,” he said. “Why everybody calling my phone, blowing me up? What the fuck — what happened? What’s going on? I’m going back to bed. Good night.”

In a surprise move, the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” hitmaker later appeared to co-sign the song by posting it on his Instagram Stories along with the caption: “90s Hip Hop Forever.”

The post did not sit well with Kendrick, who referenced the moment on his GNX opener “wacced out murals”.

“Snoop posted ‘Taylor Made,’ I prayed it was the edibles/ I couldn’t believe it, it was only right for me to let it go,” he rapped, suggesting that he has since gotten over the perceived slight.

Snoop later joked that “it was the edibles” that led to him posting Drake’s diss track and affirmed that his relationship with Kendrick was still strong.

He told Bootleg Kev: “I get the word: ‘Nephew didn’t like what you did.’ ‘What did I do?! ‘You played some music.’ What music?! Then I had to go look at the [post] and I’m like, ‘Aw, that’s cuz.’

“So then I deleted it, called [Kendrick], left him a message ’cause he ain’t pick up, he was working on his shit. ‘Nephew, it’s Uncle Snoop. I got the message. I apologize, I was fucked up. My bad.’”
