Snoop Dogg has revealed that he privately reached out to Kendrick Lamar and apologized for posting Drake‘s diss song “Taylor Made Freestyle” on social media.
Earlier this year, Snoop surprised fans by sharing the controversial track — which features AI-generated vocals from both himself and the late 2Pac — on his Instagram Stories in what many interpreted as a show of support for the 6 God.

Kendrick later addressed the apparent betrayal on his GNX album opener “wacced out murals,” rapping: “Snoop posted ‘Taylor Made,’ I prayed it was the edibles / I couldn’t believe it, it was only right for me to let it go.”
Snoop initially responded by jokingly admitting that the edibles were indeed to blame, but in a new interview with with Bootleg Kev, Tha Doggfather has cleared the air and claimed that he was unaware “Taylor Made Freestyle” had been posted on his IG page.

“What had happened was, I did a collaborative post with someone. When I do it, I don’t listen to the music, I just see Gin & Juice because it’s my brand,” he said, referring to the drinks company that he and Dr. Dre launched earlier this year.
“So when I posted it, I’m thinking I’m posting Gin & Juice. I don’t know what song this is, I’m not hip to everybody’s music.”

Snoop then revealed what he told Kendrick Lamar after finding out that his “Institutionalized” collaborator was not happy about the post.
“Then I get the word: ‘Nephew didn’t like what you did,'” he continued. “What did I do?! ‘You played some music.’ What music?! Then I had to go look at the [post] and I’m like, ‘Aw, that’s cuz.’

“So then I deleted it, called [Kendrick], left him a message ’cause he ain’t pick up, he was working on his shit. ‘Nephew, it’s Uncle Snoop. I got the message. I apologize, I was fucked up. My bad.'”
The West Coast rap legend added that he was not offended by Kendrick namedropping him on “wacced out murals.”
“That’s my nephew, man. He’s a rapper, he’s supposed to speak his mind and tell his truth. That’s the way he felt and he has the right to say that,” he said.
“I’m his big homeboy so I have to take what’s given to me from his perspective because he’s speaking truth. And the truth shouldn’t hurt you, it should make you better. I’m one to accept truth when it’s brought to me directly.

“He feels that I shouldn’t have played that. Damn, I was on them edibles, my n-gga. I gotta be more careful. You right, nephew.”
Snoop Dogg also spoke about Drake recreating his voice using artificial intelligence on “Taylor Made Freestyle” (which was since been removed after a legal threat from 2Pac’s estate), admitting he was unaware that he would be “featured” on the song before it dropped.
“I don’t want to be in nobody’s shit, man. I like being in my own shit,” he said. “When it comes to beef, that’s a real parameter that I do have. I don’t get in nobody’s beef. I’m usually the one who ends the beef.
“But if it’s out of my reach, then I step out and allow two men to get an understanding. And that’s what I feel like these two men should establish, where they don’t need me to take sides or jump in.”

Bootleg Kev also pressed the Death Row Records owner for his thoughts on Drake taking legal action against Universal Music Group over Kendrick’s hit diss song “Not Like Us,” but he refused to answer.
He just said: “On the West, we hold court in the streets, cuh.”
