BigXThaPlug had quite the childhood – and it included seeing his mom shoot an intruder as he watched cartoons on the couch.
In a new profile for GQ, X recalled how his mother was the first person he’d ever seen with a gun.
“This is back then, though, but I know my mama from selling drugs and shooting at people,” he said. “The first time I ever seen somebody get shot my mama was holding me. My mama shot somebody – they tried to break in. I was sitting on the couch watching Scooby Doo, I’ll never forget it.”
While he didn’t specify his exact age, he told the publication that he lived with her until he was 9-years-old, so it was some time before he reached double digits.

In other news, BigXThaPlug was arrested for marijuana possession in Arlington, Texas back in February after being pulled over for driving with expired tags.
The officer claimed he could smell marijuana and asked BigX and the passenger, Cleodist Landum, to get out of the car. The passenger shares a last name with the rap star, born Xavier Landum, but the relationship between the two was unclear as of this writing.
Police claimed to have found, per TMZ, “cigarettes and a leafy green substance” in the car, as well as a gun.
Per Arlington PD records, Cleodist Landum, who had an outstanding warrant, was arrested for the warrant, unlawful carrying of a weapon, possession of less than one gram a controlled substance and possession of less than two ounces of marijuana. Meanwhile, BigX’s sole charge was possession of less than two ounces of marijuana.
