Lil Wayne To Be Served Summons Before Prison Release

The barrage of lawsuits against Cash Money for shady business practices continues, as Lil Wayne will be served a federal court summons and complaint for copyright infringement before his projected November 5 prison release date.

According to a press release, Atlanta producer Mali Boi claims that Wayne committed copyright infringement on the song “Mrs. Officer,” which features Bobby Valentino.

Mali Boi, real name Michael Bradford, claims he is the original author/producer of the song. To support his case, the producer sought the opinion of Musicologist Dr. Gregory A. McPherson, who found prominent elements of Mali Boi’s 2003 composition in the “Mrs. Officer” track known today.

“Mrs. Officer” has sold over two million copies in the United States alone.
